responsible person

Only cosmetic products for which a legal or natural person has been appointed as a responsible person (RP) may be placed on the market. The responsible person ensures that every cosmetic product placed on the market complies with the obligations established by law.

The role of the responsible person is:

● responsible for compliance of products with regulatory requirements (safety, application of GMP, PIF, sampling, CPNP product notification, data on possible presence of CMR substances, nanomaterials, traces of prohibited substances, animal testing, labeling, cosmetic claims, notification of serious adverse events effects ..)

● responsible for the expertise of the safety assessor.

The tasks of the responsible person are:

● MAKES, UPDATES AND KEEPS PRODUCT DOCUMENTATION (P.I.F.)

● ENSURES AVAILABILITY OF REQUIRED PRODUCT INFORMATION TO COMPETENT AUTHORITIES

The responsible person and the safety assessor should work closely together to ensure that product safety is properly assessed, documented and updated. The responsible person should collect all necessary information, as required by the Regulation, or the information is collected by the safety assessor himself, at the request of the responsible person.
